This open front silk organza skirt was designed for a wedding. It is constructed in one piece and made of 2 layers gathered at the waist. The top layer is edged by hand all around with a wide lace trim. The waistband is gathered to create texture. It can be worm with the opening in the center or on the side.
It is worn with dressy short underneath and a boat neck top.

A summer wedding in the country

I designed this wedding dress for a dancer.
She didn't want the bodice to be constricted so I pleated it on the bias to create some stretch.
The bottom ruffle was tucked up in four places to allow freedom of movement while dancing.

The dress is made of silk. The trim is hand pleated silk organza and taffeta.
The straps are elasticized for stability.

Back view of wedding dress

Wedding dress

This wedding dress was draped on my form. It is made of a continuous piece of lace. The lining is made of silk. I had this piece of lace in my studio and was motivated to design a wedding dress. The fabric was my main inspiration, the bride will have to fit the dress.
